A Decision Is On Its Way For Our Zip Code & City Name Change

Our neighborhood is within the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction of Cedar Park and our neighborhood will eventually be annexed by the City of Cedar Park and the USPS has asked that we change the neighborhood to Cedar Park. We were a little confused when we bought the house because once you exit the neighborhood and head north, 2 lights up (almost a mile) there is a sign that reads, "Welcome To Leander." We already receive many services from Cedar Park— water, fire, rescue, and library access so we are looking forward to the change. The Board believes property values will increase—still, it’s a double edged sword. Under the jurisdiction of Cedar Park, property taxes will likely increase too. The final decision now rests in the hands of the MUD and the Postal Service and the proposed change should take effect in January 2010.
